Suggestions/Requests > Internet Access Through Wireless Neighborhood

Would you be interested in subscribing to a wireless neighborhood for internet access, rather than using Comcast, Qwest or whomever you currently are using for this service? HHHDA is investigating the costs to install a wireless neighborhood. The goal is to provide internet access in our neighborhood for less money than we currently pay to Comcast, or Qwest AND to have it faster. Like most things, costs per household are a function of how many households subscribe. The more subscriptions the less cost per subscription. If you were going to make a change in internet access (i.e. switch from comcast) what would you need to have in order to make the switch worth doing?

I for one would be very interested in this idea. A friend of mine tried to get this kind of business going downtown but never made it. I think $30/month sounds reasonable for high speed wireless, but that's just my feeling. Bevin

I'd love to have the neighborhood wired for less than I pay for Qwest (around $60+/month!).... Bring on the technology! -suz

I currently have Qwest and am pleased with the speed and reliability. I will certainly be interested in neighborhood wireless if we can get faster speed for less money.
