Central Avenue overview

Central Avenue transects the central portion of Albuquerque, New Mexico’s Huning Highland Historic District, extending from Union Square at the western edge to Locust Street. In addition to having served admirably as a segment of Route 66 for decades, Central Avenue is the dividing line between the Duke City’s north and south halves.

The vast majority of the structures encountered within the Central Avenue (Route 66) corridor are related to commercial enterprises.
