Gravy

by Karla Thornton

As many of you may have noticed, one of the unique buildings in our neighborhood is undergoing renovations. A new and exciting restaurant, Gravy, is slated to open sometime in May. The old Milton’s restaurant on Central opened in 1964 as a Denny’s. The building was designed by the renowned architecture firm Armet Davis and Newlove out of southern California. The group is known for working in the “Googie” architecture style and designed buildings such as the Holiday Bowl and many roadside diners. The original sign will remain with the panels replaced with the new name.
The team behind Gravy is Michael Wewerka, Chris Medina and David Boyd. According to Michael, the food will be a modern take on classic diner food with fresh ingredients, sourced locally when possible. They plan to be open for breakfast, lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
Please welcome Gravy to our neighborhood.
